Senior Director, Valhalla Foundation
Melissa manages a portfolio of grantees, primarily in the areas of early childhood development and K12 education, providing strategic coaching and thought partnership to accelerate their results. She also leads Valhalla’s thinking on how the Foundation can best support portfolio organizations to help them succeed. Prior to joining Valhalla, Melissa oversaw grantmaking at Tipping Point Community, where she identified, vetted, and supported Bay Area poverty-fighting organizations for nearly nine years. Melissa has also worked at Amplifier Strategies (consulting for social change organizations), Nonprofit Finance Fund, and Taproot Foundation. Melissa has an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
