Senior Director of Finance and Operations, Valhalla Foundation
Alex oversees finance, operations, and grants management for Valhalla. He also leads financial and governance due diligence for all of Valhalla’s prospective grants and helps select grantees improve their financial management and operations. Alex also manages a portfolio of Valhalla’s personal grantees, including grants to organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area and recent grants for COVID and Ukraine relief.
Before joining the Foundation, Alex led a consulting practice focused on K12 schools and education technology companies. Alex has also served as a Partner at the Learning Accelerator, co-founder of Digital Parent, Chief Business Officer of the Stupski Foundation, and founding Chief Operating Officer at Leadership Public Schools. In addition to his involvement in philanthropy and education, Alex has worked at America Online and Bain & Company. He has an MBA from Stanford, a BA from UC Berkeley, and completed the Broad Residency.
